Department of Mathematics

The Department of Mathematics is committed to providing a strong foundation in mathematical sciences through quality education, academic excellence, and value-based learning. The department strives to develop students' analytical, logical, and problem-solving abilities while fostering scientific temperament and critical thinking in alignment with the objectives of the State Education Policy (SEP) and AICTE guidelines.

The department offers courses designed to strengthen students' understanding of fundamental and applied mathematical concepts. The curriculum emphasizes Discrete Mathematical Structures, including set theory, logic, relations, functions, algebraic structures, combinatory, graph theory, trees, recurrence relations, and mathematical reasoning. It also introduces students to mathematical modeling and computational thinking, enabling them to apply mathematical principles effectively in computer science, engineering, and interdisciplinary domains.

To ensure holistic development, the department regularly organizes seminars, guest lectures, workshops, mathematical quizzes, technical talks, problem-solving sessions, poster presentations, and extension activities. These initiatives enhance analytical thinking, logical reasoning, creativity, teamwork, and communication skills while encouraging active participation in academic and technical pursuits.

The department is supported by qualified and dedicated faculty members who adopt learner-centric, outcome-based, and experiential teaching methodologies. Faculty members actively engage in research, publications, faculty development programmes, and academic collaborations to promote continuous professional growth and provide students with an intellectually stimulating learning environment.

The Department of Mathematics emphasizes the integration of mathematical knowledge with computational skills, digital technologies, ethical values, and lifelong learning. It encourages students to develop precision, innovation, and logical reasoning while preparing them to apply mathematical concepts confidently in engineering, research, higher education, industry, and professional practice.
